About Me

Shrey many colours

I am a communications professional, based in Delhi and I love movies… commercial, art house, Bollywood or Hollywood, it doesn’t matter. My posts here are views of a film buff for other film buffs and hope they enjoy reading…

My love for cinema started with Yash Chopra’s Lamhe, which I first watched at the age of 8. It is my favourite film till date and some of the other films I love are Lagaan, Water, Monsoon Wedding, Dilwale Dulhania Le JayengeUdaanAmores Perros, Shakespeare in Love, Taare Zameen Par, Asoka, Golmaal (Amol Palekar), Baton Baton Mein, Chhoti Si Baat, Schindler’s List, The Shawshank Redemption,  Hum Tum, Pretty Woman, Chak De India, Mr. India, As Good As It Gets, Midnight in Paris, Erin Brokovich, Volver, The Namesake and Omkara, amongst others.

  1. Hey Shrey,
This is the first time I have gone through your blog reviews.Great going.Very articulate, very you. You’ve developed a clear cinematic sensibility and it is a pleasure reading your reviews.
Whenever you find the time take the cinema appreciation course at the Habitat. It will only hone a very sharp cinematic intellect.

    • Thank you ma’am,
I am so glad you liked my blog. I am passionate about movies and this is my space to express my views… I am definitley planning to attend the ‘Understanding Cinema’ workshop at Habitat when it happens.
Thanks again and keep visiting the site to share your views.

  2. Hello,
Just chanced upon your blog this morning during my long bout of procrastination. I love your movie reviews! I have a slight aversion to Bollywood cinema and your reviews have reminded me that it’s all good fun (e.g., Salman Khan shouldn’t be taken seriously, but appreciated for appealing to the masses). I definitely think you should keep this up! You’ve got talent. I might become a Bollywood enthusiast in the near future. I mean anything is possible !
    Kind Regards,

    • Thanks Akansha,
Am glad you’ve started enjoying Bollywood for what it has to offer… keep sharing your views 🙂

  3. Hi Shrey,

I stumbled upon your blog with a google search the other day and while I’m not very well versed in Bollywood cinema, your reviews make me want to expand my horizons, especially since by looking at your reviews of things I’ve seen I can tell that we have similar tastes.

Anyways I’m a college student in America and I just started up my own movie review blog, it’s pretty basic since it’s only five days old with four reviews but I’d love any feedback you might have for me 🙂

    • Hi Andy,
I read your review of Madagascar and as you pointed out, we did notice similar things in the film 🙂 Your frequency of posting reviews is quite good and I hope you’d be able to continue. I usually post once a week due to work but enjoy it a lot.
If you want to watch some good Bollywood films, am happy to recommend and would be keen to know your views.

  4. Hi Shrey,

  5. Awesome blog man. I’m not much of a Bollywood fan, but may I say you have excellent taste in film. Lots of the films you listed are my favorites too (Lagaan being a hot favorite!).

I just started a new blog too, about movies and tv and such. Stop by if you want.

    • Hey Aniruddha, you have a nice blog there. I just followed it… look forward to interacting with you in future. Cheers!

  6. Thanks for the compliment and the huge honor, Shrey! I thought I had linked your blog in my Blogs I Follow widget, but this is not so. I’ll have to rectify that tomorrow! For now, just accept my Thanks!
